The holidays can be a wonderful time for children to celebrate with those who love them. Sadly, many local kids can not relate to these safe and happy experiences. Every day in our community, more than two young people tell someone they have been a victim of abuse or crime.
In facing soaring demand for our services and less funding, we have been forced to start a waitlist. Your financial gift at this challenging time is vital. We know that children who don’t receive critical support are prone to suffer now and struggle later in life. “At 12 years old, I was referred to Child Witness Centre after disclosing sexual abuse to my school’s guidance counsellor. My caseworker helped me overcome my fear of testifying and walked with me through the court process. Today, I am a university graduate, actively pursuing a successful career. I am grateful for being supported through a very difficult time in my life so I could move forward.”
