Celebrating Your Support & Pressing Forward Together!

We supported over 1,261 children and youth, and their caregivers, in Waterloo Region, Guelph, and Wellington County this past year alone.

With over 200 young people on our waitlist, there has never been a more urgent time to donate. Every child victim deserves our critical support.

What is it like for the children we support? Laura Cook sheds some light in this video.

“The support of Child Witness Centre for me was… lifesaving.” - Past client

Child Witness Centre

The vision of the Child Witness Centre is a community where children and youth are safe, valued and heard, empowering them towards strong futures.

We are immensely grateful for the outstanding advocacy and hard work of Jess Dixon, MPP for Kitchener South-Hespeler! She is a former Crown Attorney in our area with a huge heart for seeing local kids receive the support they critically need through the criminal justice system - so they don't have to walk alone. The increased provincial investment in our programs translates to more child victims coming off our waitlist to receive the help they urgently need, for far greater outcomes. Thank you, Jess!!! 💙P.S. Make sure to check out CBC KW's website article and radio interview with Craig Norris - featuring Jess and our executive director, Robin Heald. Both published online on April 15. ... See MoreSee Less

Child Witness Centre simply would not be the same without our tremendous crew of volunteers. This includes those who serve on our board, assist with administrative tasks, help with property maintenance, support our events, and much more. Through every act of kindness, you are supporting our mission and making life better for our team and those we serve. Thank you!#NationalVolunteerWeek #NVW2024 ... See MoreSee Less

A new coat of paint to freshen things up! Huge thanks to Dennis Koebel and Nelu Banda who recently volunteered to paint at the Child and Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC).The three rooms pictured are the spaces we use most at the CYAC, when meeting with children and youth, and their caregivers, during investigations of abuse and crime. A clean and welcoming environment goes a long way, as we shed light and provide comfort in difficult circumstances. Along with these three rooms, Dennis and Nelu painted two hallways, two interview rooms, and another room used by Family & Children's Services of the Waterloo Region and Waterloo Regional Police Service.Dennis shared, "We felt honoured to deploy 7 gallons of paint to spruce the place up. This centre brings justice for children and being able to assist in this way was our pleasure."Thank you, Dennis and Nelu, for your generous gift of time and talent! ... See MoreSee Less
