When a child or youth has been a victim or a witness of abuse or crime, it can be an overwhelming and confusing time for them and their families.

For Victims of Crime

Criminal Injuries Compensation Board– financial assistance for victims of crime.

Victim Impact Statement – information about the VIS, it’s purpose, etc.

Victim Support Line– The VSL is a province-wide, multilingual, toll-free information line providing a range of services to victims of crime.

Ontario guidelines for reporting child abuse and neglect

Guide to Ontario Courts

Ministry of the Attorney General – services provided by the Ministry of the Attorney General to support victims’ rights.

The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC)-independent advisory agency that provides advice to the Attorney General of Ontario on victims’ issues. The Office for Victims of Crime does not provide direct services to victims of crime. The OVC’s mandate is to ensure that the needs of victims of crime in Ontario are met.
