This spring we decided to launch our first Spring Appeal to raise funds for CWC and for our community. This initiative was boosted by the vision of our new Executive Director, David Morneau, who wanted to give back both to the organization he leads, and the communities we serve. Dave’s vision to support organizations in our community, and not just look inwards, led to support for ALS Canada, Ray of Hope, Mood Disorders Society, Food Bank – Guelph, We Matter, House of Friendship, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Grand River Hospital Foundation. During these uniquely challenging times we must stand together to support the needs of others, wherever possible.
Our Board of Directors, a group of 12 thoughtful, compassionate individuals, under the leadership of Board Chair, Lisa Allen, committed matching funds to the Spring Appeal and also donated to several other community organizations, including Extend-a-Family – Waterloo Region, Hospice of Waterloo Region, and Women’s Crisis Services. In total we raised $10,250 for Child Witness Centre and $800 for organizations in the community!
In uncertain times when it is hard to look outward while we care for our families and loved ones, we are so grateful for donors like you, who have so generously supported us! We are stronger together.
