Did you know 27% of Canadians report experiencing physical or sexual abuse before the age of 15?

This past year alone, we supported 1,088 child and youth victims of abuse and crime, and 827 caregivers, in Waterloo Region, Guelph, and Wellington County.

When we walk with young survivors and their families through the justice system, their trauma is reduced, healing begins, and futures become much brighter.

What is it like for the children we support? Laura Cook sheds some light in this video.

“The support of Child Witness Centre for me was… lifesaving.” – Past client

It was wonderful to celebrate an Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) grant yesterday, which is helping bridge critical gaps in mental health support for young victims! 🩵 This timely funding enables our agency to deliver short-term, trauma-informed crisis counselling to children and youth when needed most. It means we can further support young survivors at a crucial time in their healing journey, while they wait for long-term care to become available. ❤️‍🩹 🔗 Read the media release: childwitness.com/otf-grant-bridges-gap-in-mental-health-supports/ 📸 In top photo (L to R): Kendra Abraham, CWC Board Chair, Robert Coole, OTF representative, Aislinn Clancy, MPP for Kitchener Centre, and Robin Heald, CWC Executive Director.
