1000 Challenge - Webpage header image NEW

This new peer-to-peer fundraiser, running in conjunction with our Child Victims Can't Wait campaign, will challenge individuals and teams to complete an activity of their choice for 1,000 units (i.e.: hours, kilometres, pages, etc.). We are also looking for sponsors, who will receive great benefits! For every $1,000 raised, we can support one more child and their caregiver(s) through the justice system.

Could you use some help with the registration process? Or would you like to learn more about sponsorship opportunities? We would love to help! Find Kate DeBaets' contact info below.

  • Walking, running, biking, or kayaking for 1,000 minutes
  • Reading 1,000 pages or completing a 1,000-piece puzzle
  • Completing 1,000 pushups, sit-ups, or burpees
  • Playing music, gardening, or creating artwork for 1,000 minutes
  • Taking 1,000 shots on net, hitting 1,000 baseballs, or 1,000 golf swings
  • Businesses or restaurants displaying 1,000 Challenge signage or tent cards for 1,000 hours.

In late 2022, we were forced to start a waitlist for the first time in over 40 years. Our staff are working tirelessly to help as many clients as possible, but kids are still being left behind. When we can walk with young survivors, their trauma is reduced, and their future is brighter. Your participation in this fundraiser will enable us to support more child victims, and foster a stronger community for all.

We're here to help you get started! Contact Kate DeBaets, Development Coordinator, at [email protected] or 519-744-0904 x 221.
