Help Cover Overhead

We have two child and youth friendly locations.

• Duke Street office: We are fortunate to own this location, and have since 2012. This is thanks to the Rotary Club of Kitchener Conestoga and other community donations for making this possible. We annually budget $8,000 for house maintenance and supplies, $7,000 for parking costs, and $4,200 for property tax. That’s over $20,000 we need to raise every year!
• Queen Street office: Our Child and Youth Advocacy Centre of Waterloo Region (CYAC) rents space with our community partners to provide support through the investigation of abuse or crime. Our annual rent is over $32,000, which provides interview rooms, waiting rooms, office space, and shared rooms.

Water, heat, and electricity account for about $4,200 in our annual expenses.

We need to ensure our space and people are safe and secure. Our insurance costs are about $12,500 a year.

Everyone needs technology, software, and equipment to be connected. We are grateful to Waterloo IT for providing $10,000 through in-kind support to lower our costs almost in half. But we still require an additional $12,000 to cover our annual IT needs.

Our young clients need to be able to reach us, whether that is using our direct-line or connecting with their frontline worker directly. This expense is about $1,000 per month, which adds up to $12,000 annually. For a monthly donation of $1,000, you would ensure we stay connected!

Our everyday office supplies, printing, postage, and courier service costs add up to over $6,000 per year. With a monthly donation of $500, you would cover most of this need for a year!

Staff travel costs are about $3,000 per year. This is mainly for our frontline support workers to attend court dates and meet with our clients. You can literally invest in kids and families having someone 'be there' for them!
