We hope you will join us on Monday, June 17, at 6:00 p.m. to learn about our impact this past year, and how we are working to overcome our waitlist. This hybrid meeting will take place virtually on Microsoft Teams and in person at Bennett Grant LLP’s Kitchener office (55 King St W, 6th Floor).
Please RSVP by email to admin@childwitness.com, indicating whether you are planning to attend online or in person. Those who plan to attend virtually will be sent the meeting invitation.
In our 2023-24 fiscal year, we supported 1,006 children and youth, and their families, in Waterloo Region, Guelph, and Wellington County. These young victims and witnesses benefitted with healing, wellbeing, and resiliency towards strong futures. We have made great progress on our waitlist, which started the year at 201, and now sits at 135, but more work needs to be done.
Without help, victimized children and youth are far more likely to have problems both now and later in life. This can include mental health issues, unhealthy relationships, substance abuse – and the list goes on. But the good news is our support throughout the criminal justice process can stop the cycle of pain and dramatically improve their trajectory for positive outcomes.
