Community Presentations
We welcome the opportunity to speak to community groups, schools and businesses about the challenges children and youth face as victims or witnesses of abuse or crime. We’ll then share about the unique and valuable role we play in supporting these brave young people and their families through the criminal justice system.
- This begins with how the Child and Youth Advocate Program, located in the Waterloo Region Child and Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC), provides support at the start of an investigation, regardless of whether charges are laid.
- If charges are laid, either through the CYAC or investigations handled by other police units in Waterloo Region or Guelph and Wellington County, our Child Witness Program provides support through the court process and the impact of those experiences.
