Monet – our Facility Dog!

December 22, 2020

Monet is a wonderful addition to our CWC Team. A Facility Dog fulfills what has been identified by research as a missing link in supporting the mental health of young victims and witnesses of crime or abuse.  This gap in support has been identified worldwide. In Canada, Facility Dogs are being used at approximately 40 agencies and the demand for this mental health support continues to grow, based on the overwhelming benefits identified by research and noted by young victims and witnesses of crime and their families.

Monet is the first Facility Dog working in criminal court in Waterloo Region and we are excited to be part of this evolution of service delivery. Monet is one of the many supports we provide young people and their families, and illustrates how donations flow directly back to these supports.

We created a video on Monet and her impact at CWC! Please give it a watch and enjoy.
