A new advocacy centre set to open May 1 will support children and youth who are victims or witnesses of abuse.
The centre will offer help from police officers who have an understanding of child abuse, workers with Family and Children's Services and the Child Witness Centre.
"It will bring together all these professionals and fill in the gaps so that they (the victims and their families) can navigate the process so there isn't more stress added to the victim and the family," said Laura Muirhead, executive director of the Child Witness Centre.
