Conestoga College Bachelor of Public Relations Students Raise $8200 for Child Witness Centre

During the final semester of their 2nd year of Public Relations, students are required to run a fundraising event that combines both their Event Management course as well as their Project Management course.

Each year the program chooses a nonprofit organization to be the beneficiary of these proceeds and this year, for a second time, Child Witness Centre was fortunate enough to work with the wonderful folks in the Conestoga College Public Relations Degree program.

The students ran 5 events, held between March 27th and April 5th, which culminated in over $8,200.00 being raised in support of Child Witness Centre. The events included an 80s/90s dance, a terrarium building night, a music trivia/bingo night at Edelweiss Tavern, a health and wellness class, and an open mic night featuring talent locally and from Toronto.

We want to thank the professors for partnering with us, the community for embracing these budding event planners who reached out for donations, both monetary and gifts for silent auction tables, as well as choosing to participate in the student events, and, of course, the students who worked tirelessly for 12 weeks and managed to exceed all expectations.

From all of us at the Child Witness Centre, a HUGE heartfelt thank you!
